Structure
The main structure of a concrete screw conveyor includes the following components:
Drive Unit: This unit mainly consists of a motor, reducer, and coupling, providing power to the screw shaft.
Screw Shaft: It consists of a rotating shaft and helical blades welded to it. When the shaft rotates, the helical blades actively propel the material forward.
Trough: The trough is a U-shaped or cylindrical enclosed channel in which the screw shaft rotates. It is typically made of wear-resistant steel plate and lined internally to improve wear resistance.
Inlet and Outlet: The inlet is located at one end of the trough to receive material; the outlet is located at the other end to discharge material.
Support Device: The two ends of the screw shaft are fixed by a support device, which generally includes bearing housings and bearings.
Sealing Device: To prevent material leakage and block external impurities from entering, the conveyor is equipped with sealing structures at the inlet, outlet, and support device.
Working principle
First, the motor starts, driving the screw shaft to rotate via a reducer and coupling. As the screw blades rotate, they actively propel the material forward along the trough. During this process, the screw blades exert thrust on the material, while friction is generated on the trough wall; both actions combine to create a continuous flow of material. The material enters the trough from the inlet, travels along the trough under the propulsion of the screw blades, and is finally discharged from the outlet. Because the screw shaft rotates continuously, this equipment can achieve continuous material conveying, thus meeting the needs of continuous production.
